Squirrel in yard or garden

Squirrels are prolific breeders and you will have many squirrels in your yard.

Squirrels can have two litters per year.  One litter early spring and the other in late summer.  Each litter can have 1-7 babies.  Readily accessible food sources will attract them to your yard, such as bird feeders.

Squirrels love sunflower seeds and will perform great athletic maneuvers to get to the seeds.  Once squirrels have gotten the seeds or any other seed/nut they will proceed to bury their find.  When squirrels bury the seed/nut in your yard they carefully cover it.  When they are hungry they locate the seed/nut by the smell of the seed/nut or from their own sent. When they dig up the seed/nut they leave behind a 3-4 inch deep hole as they don't cover the hole when they remove their food
