London is a major city along the Highway 401 corridor between Toronto and Windsor, Ontario and also at the conversion point of Highway 402 which runs north-west from the 401 towards Sarnia.  This makes London a popular stop for travellers. Most of London falls north of the 401 however its boundaries are widespread over 420 sq. kilometers.  Londons International Airport is located east of the city center, also making it an attractive city to live in or do business in.

London has a population of 366 K, and also draws a large number of students to its schools, Fanshawe College, located just east and north of the city center and the University of Western located just north of the city center on the north portion of the Thames River.

The Thames River is a very significant body of water, running 273 kilometres through several cities in south western Ontario.
